Like the little throw away remark at the end CAD2 ! Here's me thinking all Geordies were filled with mutual respect, or was it just to see if you got any reaction from the likes of me ?  ??? best regards

You have to have been a member of the old MB Forum to appreciate this comment. I'm emphatically NOT anti-Geordie, but a few of our NE colleagues used to use that forum for inter-club and personal sniping and other petty nastiness. It all got very tedious for those of us in the rest of the world who neither knew them nor cared about their internicine squabbles. I don't think the worst culprits are members of this forum; maybe that's why it stopped (no names; no pack-drill).

I have been a member of New Brighton Model Boat Club for about 6 months, and have found the majority of the members to be a fine bunch, but as in all walks of life their area small few who make it difficult for others. In case you were not aware the plans for the new pool have fallen through as planning for the Morrisons supermarket were not accepted. Our current pond has a huge crack going right across it, this was caused by the council allowing wate boulders to be dumped in the pond some time back, our members do in fact drain and clean the pond at least once a year when not hampered by swans.

I visit the pond at least once a week but have never had a cross word about the monster swells my powerfull tug produces at full chat, i always take more than one set of cystals so if the frequency is taken i can use another.

Hi CAD2, I made the remark with tongue firmly placed in cheek ! I did  follow some of the great hot air debates on the MB Forum, but usually lost interest pretty quickly (The 'boring old farts' theme being an example) and ,unlike this much better forum, very rarely bothered to add my tuppence worth.

best regards

I think that most of us would agree that the 'Boring Old Farts' thread was the worst single feature of the old MB forum, together with one or two of those who contributed to it. Thankfully they haven't found their way onto this forum yet. I'm sure that having seen the way things went with MB, Martin learned a useful lesson from it all, and won't let the same thing happen here.
