Near Yeovilton, Portsmouth,Devonport? photos wanted
« on: August 02, 2008, 09:28:20 am »

Not sure whether there are any models of HMS Hermes visible in the above Naval Museums but
I am looking for reference photos of the 'Island' and the hulls 'cut out areas'  post Falklands/pre India era.

If you happen to be passing with a camera and could do the honours I would be grateful.
(too far from Norwich!)

Thanks guys/girls

Are these any help? First two taken in the Portsmouth RN Museum last year during the Falklands War exhibition. Not sure what period the model relates to though. The third picture is another model in the Dockyard restaurant. I can email you the original full size files if you want.

Can't, surely, be "the" Rex Hunt that was the Flaklands Governor in 1982?

That was going to be my next question ;D

For those who may not know, another Rex Hunt is famous (infamous?) in Australia for hosting a TV fishing show where he acted like a goose, and kissed fish.  :o He also achieved notoriety in our area for becoming involved in a fight with a much younger man outside a pub in Byron Bay, after again acting like a goose.  :police:
