  • Getting back into the hobby after years adrift...
  • Location: Lydney, Glos. UK

My wife and I trekked up to Warrington from the Forest of Dean. 'Trek' was the right word as the M6 on the Saturday was one monster queue from Brum northwards, my impression being that it was actually generated by the warning signs as there were no incidents and the traffic wasn't as heavy as a normal weekday. It took us over 5 hrs to do 160 miles! Do I sense a bit of 1984 here, with 'The Authorities' generating non-existant events to slow us down to a crawl? That way lies revolution......  >>:-(

Loved the show, although the postcode on the adverts was for the 'other show' in the Leisure Centre at Bichwood. Luckily we got there just as the bus was leaving and trailed it back to the main site, and went back to the other show later. The Convention show was the business, very high quality models and informative people as well, difficult to ask for more, apart from traders. The reason became obvious when we went to the 'other show' to find SHG, Models by Design, George Turner, Action et al, all parked over there and only a couple of club stands, not to mention an almost empty hall.

I have no knowledge of the politics involved there but I can't help but think there must  be a better solution for 2010. Otherwise a great weekend.

Hello all,a very big thankyou to all at the show,in particular the organisers,it must be the best run and friendliest show there is,against my better judgement i'd better say thanks to that mob from Glasgow as they provided some skippers for the opening ceremony, when is Gingyer going to admit it was him that cut the tape with Grey Fox ?,hope you all got back ok,how is Gaylord ???.
Thanks again to all from the Edinburgh Model Boat Club

A great show and a great bunch of modelers.  I hope Susy 2 (my no2 water skier) enjoys her new home in Scotland :-) Take care of her lads she has led a very sheltered life down here in Wales.  Liked the video by the way.  Any more to come??

Glad you persevered on the motorway, Not sure which post code / advert you used but if its one of the 2 I posted they were the correct ones , I worked in the main building opposite for 5 years.. :-))  Hope you can attend next year, same weekend , same Venue.
