Oh, THAT sort of smoking joint!
Heheee!
Such activities are described as the 'vinegar stroke' around this way. The next time you're down your local chip shop, and the girl behind the counter asks if you want salt & vinegar, keep an eye on her wrist action.

Thanks for the heads-up, Danny.
I was of an innocent and pure mind before all this.  ::)

I would love a tat of a common carp, but don't like the idea of going through the pain of having one! :embarrassed: ;D

Hi,
Just had my first one done (a fat fairey (represents my beautiful curvey wife)) on my upper arm. To my utter surprise it really didn't hurt, just a bit sore afterwards. However, Rachel (the wife mentioned earlier) had a small ammonite on the top of here foot...........the fingermarks are now a permenant feature in the tatooist chair. It looked excruciating, and she has a high pain threshold. So I think it's all down to where its done, but what does anyone else think.

I can honestly say without fear of contraception that none of mine hurt me whilst they were being done, just a feeling of pressure as the tattooist pushed down on the needle, that's all. My home done piercings never hurt either, my 'personal' one was a bit different, but I think that was more a fear thing than actual pain...if I'd have slipped with the needle my voice could have been changed forever  :D

I am aware of the high moral family values of the forum, and I really didn't expect any thing salacious (is that how you spell it). I am however interested in the tatoo as an art form, and would genuinly be facinated to see more examples, and will,if I can work out how to post pics, put my fairey on. Thats if anyone else is interested.
I am quite curious to see the quality and logevity of tatoos in general as there is a huge variation in different artists work, and it is very difficult to find good tatooist. I have been very lucky as the guy recommended to me origionally by several people can be, at best, variable. It was only after seeing one of his, shall we say, lesser works that I continued to research and was eventually recommended to another feller. And am glad to say that the result is the dogs ********, and will  be reutruning to him for more work next year.
However if someone has another artist in the south wales area they trust i would still be very interested in hearing from them.

There is at least one British published mag dedicated to ink. You could try that avenue to find a good tatoo artist in S Wales.

Had one on my left arm, a simple heart- made in my youth.
Some years later an Italian, seeking some trouble attacked me with a knife and he.... "eliminated" it... Anyway- no other damages had been made, the girl within that heart had left me before- fair enough that it disappeared as well. The Tattoo turned to a scarf and I`m glad that I don`t have had any others. I was often thinking about making one, 2 years ago- when I´ve had been through real stormy times. My imagination was a streetdog, showing his teeth and scrating out another one of his lifes on a wallboard...
But I don`t have had the money and now I`m glad again that I don`t have made it.

I have got about 26 tattoos and they do get sore in some places and they do fade and look crap after years
but the inks they use today are somewhat better and finding a good artist helps
this pic shows what can look like horrid tat tho
