Riviera 80 by Equipage
« on: August 20, 2006, 09:29:33 pm »

Come on.. somebody out there must have bought one of these by now, it looks very much like a Riva, due to the very good build quality and is often mistaken for a Riva in fact which isn't bad for a ARTR boat kit. Trouble is, it's not easy to get it plaining on the waterdue to its weight. Any help would be great.

Paul,  I have an Aqua Riva which was ready built.   It has two strips either side of the bow which makes it plane superbly.   If it is of any help, I couldemail you a photo.   Peter M

Hi Paul, don't know if I can help with this.

I wrote the review on the Riviera in MMI. I had no problems getting the hull on the plane, quite the opposite actually. What motor/prop and cell count are you using.
I used a 700 BBTurbo 8.4 volt but the one thing I did find was that the supplied plastic prop caused the hull not to plane correctly due to it flexing under power. All I did was fit a 35 mm 3 blade  prop (Raboesch I think) and the difference was startling!.

Hope this is pf help

Cheers

HI, Ive got a Riviera 80 also, but it hasnt got wet yet due to lack of funds! all I have fitted so far is a graupner 700 motor and the rudder servo. Anyway if your interested theirs a lot of info on the Riviera at www.RCGroups.com If you click on regions, choose Austrailia, then theirs a disscuission on the Riviera. By the way Ive installed a mahogany dashboard, and lined the sides of the cockpit with mahogany and added a "carpet" just to make it a bit individual!
regards Les.
