I’m in the latter stages of building the vintage model boat company’s ( before they got brought out) sea urchin, I’m in the process of finishing up paint and varnish work before I fit the final details and fittings.

Blog can be found here...

It shouldn’t take much more than 4-6 weeks or so now to finish this project, then I have an exciting new project which is a pair of scratch built CMB’s from ww1 then the ww2 variant, working only from the original redrawn plans.

Exciting stuff!

With Wicksteed looming ever closer the Windsor Dockyard has had to divert resources away from HMS Agincourt to building self assembly furniture for my sister's new flat.  It is kinda still a wood / building exercise, but not for something that floats.
Inconvenient, but family necessities unfortunately have to come first.

Hi
Hannants are your best bet, I've attached the web address below, I had a quick look and AFV Club have a new kit out this year which you could pre order. Couldn't see a hellcat but there are a lot of Manufacturers out there and Hannants have most of them covered.

https://www.hannants.co.uk

Hope this helps
Thanks James59.  1:144 is a difficult scale to source.  I'll scratch build. Brian

Finally started assembling the Fairey Swordsman. Began cutting out the frames and keel etc. at Christmas but got side-tracked by another project, jobs around the house and a holiday etc.

Thanks Andy I'll do that.  I need some coaching on posting pictures.  Can I change the caption from within the forum or must they have captions before attaching them to the post?  I did reduce the size of all the pictures as requested by the Forum.  I will PM you with the full size pic. Presumably its the pic of the boat on the water.  Brian

4ft long high speed steam boat (or 1.2 metrs if you are that way inclined) ready for mayhem next year, engine, finished boiler finished , now all the pipework.
Look out for the free running competition (IE straight running ...no radio ) for the  mayhem weekend, details for you in January, so prepare to build (simple design..and limits)

Well, not strictly building as I finished it a couple of weeks ago, but I have been experimenting with an airboat with two ducted fans and steering with differential thrust - no rudder but two channels mixed in the transmitter in response to steering commands.  A couple of photos (still in yellow primer, although painted properly now) -

It works, but the steering has a short lag at high speeds which has led to a couple of embarrassing moments!  %)   I need to play around with the mixing, and plan to spread the two fans apart a bit more, to the maximum beam of the boat to give more steering moment.  All good fun!

Pilot 40. Hull and plan from Sarik. Started 6 weeks ago but have only managed to fir the prop shafts, rudders and motor mounts. The latter caused me lots of headaches as the base needs to curve with the hull and the top angled to aling with the prop shaft. A dodecahedron would have been easier!

Just as I started, my wife inconsiderately broke her arm just below the shoulder, so I've been chaufer for hospital visits and novice housekeeper not to mention twist-top jar and toothpaste opener. Now I've got to put up xmas decorations. bah humbug!

I'm about halfway through building Deans Marines latest kit ,S Y Napsugar, which I purchased and received at the end of October.
A very attractive boat when completed.... some head scratching needed to collate some parts with the instructions and drawing and a call to Deans quickly resolved some missing parts issues but all in all very happy with progress so far.

I'm building the same boat. Purchased from Blackpool show. Hull was already started, which I wasn't happy about. I don't know which build to follow, instructions, plans or CD builds. Looks like at least 3 different builds.Missing parts I printing on my 3d resin printer. Also bought 3 model figures, one has leg broken, another has lost it's head. Again now printing my own. Ordered set of running lights, receive 2 green 2 red no white.

Still plodding along with a Billing Bluenose that I started six years ago.   Got totally cheesed off with poor quality black paint so I bought an aerosol tin of satin black, masked everything off then when I went to peel off the masking it removed small patches of the paint under the tape so it was start again and repaint the lower part of the hull.   Also got a Waverley sitting on a shelf awaiting a date with the aerosols as it too didn't like the white gloss paint that I was using.   It was like trying to paint using milk. Don't do airbrushing as it seems too fiddly to me.

Still working on my five Fairey builds. Making progress with painting 3 of the hulls, hand painting using International Paints.

Have modified my drawings for a Fairey Faun lake/river cruiser and printed them off ready for a start soon.

Still puffing along with my Mountfleet Highlander which I started in January.  -3C in the workshop/shed tonight so no painting for a while which is holding things up.  As a wee diversion I picked up a black Friday deal on a 1/72 scale Revel PT boat kit which I'm converting to RC for calm weather sailing.
