... Arrow- don`t laugh, I can`t speak German correct as well... I`m a natural born suebian. Suebian dialect is known as a version of "linguistic breakdance".

So, good chance for you that your German is better than mine...  O0

Hi Guys,

In mentioning patterns etc. do you know of any good books on mould making. I wish to make some fittings for my 1:16 scale build, example, make one locker, take a mould then make several others all the same size.

Are there any books available that describes the process and materials needed to carry out the task, considering I have no experience in this at all

Thankyou

Not books, but dvd's on using a film and industrial. From the smooth on company. They are great subject matter doesn't make to much difference in the construction of the master and the molds if it is a complicated mold then you might need a three or more piece mold. or think about if you can sub divide the part in to two or more parts that are easier to cast.http://www.smooth-on.com/ they have countries distributors under the heading flags. I also see they have some videos on line. There stuff is either loved or hated by people. what limited array of their products I have used has been good.

http://www.hobbycast.net/video.htm is the hobbyist version of the companies web site. great basic videos.

Here is the industrial divisions Video's from beginner to the pro.these are some of the best vid's on the subject out there.Including product vids from the companies they sell the products. There are in the US I don't know if you on the left side of the pond can see them if you can or can't please post a yeah or nay! http://www.freemansupply.com/video.htm
Their site and tech library is also a wonder of information on the subject.

Here is another great site with some interesting projects and info. http://www.sculptor-iangb.com/mould.htm

Hi Martin

Re pattern / mould making I would suggest the following site

http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/

Go to 'Downloads'

Download 'Fibreglass Guide' . Page 22 onwards gives advice on moulds, RTV, Latex etc. Also the use of resins.

There is also a good reference guide to fibreglassing, mould making etc

CFS can also supply the materials at a good price. Just bought some fibreglass materials at 1/2 the price of a well know motor parts/paint supplier.

No connection. Just a good local company who know what they are talking about.

Regards

Longshanks and PT sideshow,

Thanks for the links and info. In Oz we use the Pal system for video's/DVD's but I have a feeling my player accepts NTSC - must check it out.

Thanks again :-)) :-)) :-))
