MGC! Fabulous little car, if it's already restored (looks like it) you'll just love it to death and it'll probably never let you down but if you are going to strip and re-build it, forget models for quite a while.

I fancy restoring this speedboat I've been asking info on, as my next "model" so might do just that and fit a tow bar.
Now that would be something,......... an MG  towing an Austin Healey? {-) :D :o

One of my other hobbies includes cars, more specifically the sixties muscle cares. The one shown I've had for about 38 years. It has 56K original miles. The lump under the hood is a 427 Chevy big block. The car?.....a 1966 Chevelle Malibu SS....Canadian built

My 1950 New Hudson Autocycle, not rebuilt by me, I might add, however I do clean and maintain the bike. Runs a treat, pulls like a train. Second in its class at the Shrewsbury Show...Mick :-))

John...I'm drooling over that beast. My cousin in Vancouver still has her Chevy Impala convertible, her father bought it for her as her first car when she was eighteen. She's now 58...and the car is almost the same age. You just can't beat big old Yank iron for longevity. My old friend (now sadly passed away) had a 427cu in big block engined Camaro, it was a frightening thing to ride in. Another friend of mine (again, no longer with us) had a full drag race spec Chevelle...the word 'awesome' doesn't come anywhere near describing the thing. 'Terrifying' may come close...

Rich:

I'm glad you like her. thanks.
The big block certainly does stir the inner juices. There may be rice rockets that can pull more top end horse power, but there's nothing like a big block for torque off the line. The feeling of it trying to deposit one int the back seat is tremendous.
My particular 427 started life as a Corvette 435 horse Hi performance engine with four bolt mains and big port heads. Up until a year ago it had solid lifters and 11.5 : 1 compression. It was getting really rough trying to find gas (petrol) for it. I had the engine rebuilt last winter with 9.5 compression and a high performance hydraulic camshaft. She'll still red line at 7k RPM and pull like crazy. I don't know if the times have suffered any, but for the street she feels fine and I can at least put gas in it.
If your friends/relatives still have some of those old big blocks around they're worth hanging on to.

{-) Yeh, got that right. One of my favourite shows. Phenomenal how fast they get it done. I've seen some fo the cars, close up, at the local car shows. They look as good up close as they do on TV. First class work. Me... I just fumble along n my garage......and enjoy it. My next project it to pull apart my 1993 Chev 4x4 1/2 ton pick up and put a new cab on it. Got the cab last week. Thinks I'll start on it about March or so.

 Roy:
Just checked out your web site.......some real nice rides. I dabble in bikes myself. Just finished up a Honda 1974 CB550. Runs a treat and is  a really neat ride. A nice change from the sedateness of my 83 Goldwing.
