Cheap holders/clamps
« on: October 29, 2008, 03:21:58 pm »

Fed up with never having enough clamps or holders?

Buy a lenght of thik walled PVC pipe, and run it through the band saw cutting 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" slices. Cut the slices open on ONE side.
Hey Presto loads of clamps/holders.

They hold well, and if you need more pressure, just pop more over the first one. (like a round leaf spring in effet).

Can't take the credit for this one, saw it on another site but thought I would share.

That's an excellent idea. The cheapie clamps available at £1 shops are way too strong for most of my needs.

What a brilliant idea, if anyone near portsmouth/southampton wants to take up on that way,let me know,i can get as much plastic gas pipe as you can imagine, and in a lot of sizes, bearing in mind the bigger the pipe, thicker wall thickness more pressure.
So you might have take quite a bit more thicker slices to relieve the pressure
