I see it just as a day or weekend by a lake.
Chance for a chat and a sail and put pictures and a report here on the forum for all to enjoy.
Maybe we could hold open days at different clubs.

The forum already is some type of club, in the very loosest sense. If you don't join your not in, but that doesn't stop me/others helping non forum members. As for helping people I've never met via the forum, I have only met one or two forum members but that hasn't stopped me giving/receiving advice. Surely that's the whole point of the forum.

We can't all attend the same events but that shouldn't stop us enjoying the reports/pictures of those events.

Maybe you worry just a little too much

I agree, with Doug... this forum IS a club, of sorts

Meeting up with others, will only enhance the experience..

Personally speaking, (and for most of the members here) I will help anyone

Whether or not I have met them is irrelevant, Pointy !

To my knowledge, I haven't met a single person off this forum, and only 1 (who is a friend) anyway off my other forum where I admin the gallery ! ( MSW)

I do this, for free.. because I enjoy it, I enjoy helping others, and I believe the web is for everyone..

I would like to think.. I have helped many along the way, if not with direct advice, then certainly with encouragement and enthusiasm.

To me.. this is the very "essence" of the two forums I belong too

So really , Pointy you need have no worries at all,

Advice is always available and on tap.

When that stops... I'll be dead anyway

Till then, I'll carry on being me.. and enjoy it ! So should you !

being 23 and into me boats im more then happy to natter to fellow boaters younger and older, the way i see it im learning all the time and want to pass the knowledge on later in life,

Martin, good idea. How about the IMBS in Warwickshire in November? Just stick a Model Boat Mayhem sticker on our jackets. Quite a few clubs, including mine, attend, and of course non-club members do also. Pete M

I like the idea of an informal gathering for Mayhemers!. I'm new to this branch of modelling and have yet to meet model boaters in the flesh as it were. All I know is that I have found MBM incredibly helpful (and a great source of light relief) amnd would love to meet some of the other members
