MMB Motor in a Straight Runner
« on: May 17, 2009, 08:41:11 pm »

Now having seen what Stav's Perkasa did with one of Marks's looney motors, I just had to put one in a straight runner. So a quick call to mark and a couple of motors later (I've got a plan for the second one) I was ready. So installed said looney motor into a 3ft long hull (having removed a 3 1/2 cc glow) 2 x 12v packs, all ready for a bath test.
Big Big mistake-------------3ft boat, looney motor, 24volts, bath full of water----switch on---------Bath now empty, bathroom now very wet----------me wetter
So today at the lake at St Albans was the first real test.
Wind, rain, but who cared once I let it go for the first time. A lot of cries of disbelief as we ran the boat (some even from me!!!!) There are a few fellow boaters re-thinking their motors now !!!!!!
So here we are, all ready for Wicksteed   :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
