I just think it is going to be in danger of bending at the end if the prop is knocked in transit or a collision. Some adaptors will be in the post as soon as it stops raining - I shouldn't have had that extra hour lie in.
Anyone else need a 4BA bolt drilled before I take the jig out of the chuck.
You are a gentleman sir, and a scholar...many, many thanks for that, it's much appreciated. Being a plastic kit she's going to be extremely fragile anyways, so I'll have to build a travelling box for her, hopefully that should keep the worst of the knocks away whilst she's in transit to the lake. I hope you enjoyed your extra hour in bed....
Thanks again Bee...
I've been using 1.5mm brass rod as prop shafts for a long long time (something like that, anyway - its a sliding fit up the inside of a Q-Tip plastic tube). Yet to bend one. The only way would be to drop the model on it, and the shaft would then be the least of your worries.
Good man, you've just increased my hopes ten fold. The only bit of the actual 1/16th brass rod that shows is about an inch or so where the shaft comes out of the hull and into the shaft supports, the section inside the prop is inside the support bars, so fingers crossed they will be ok.
Cheers,
Rich
