Action P68 "Pico" Speed controller ESC ( Brain fade moment)
« on: November 07, 2008, 10:18:03 am »

Am I missing something here? Am I being totally thick….or what?

The rudder servo plugs into the rx   :-))
The forward turret servo plugs into the rx   :-))
The stern turret plugs into the rx   :-))
The radio battery pack plugs into the on/off switch   :-))
The on/off switch plugs into the rx   :-))
The esc plugs into the rx   :-))
The drive motors connect to the esc   :-))

So where do the wires from the main battery pack go to?????    :embarrassed:

Well, that's I thought Colin, but according to the instructions Dave supplied me with, the two wires from the "xxx" end of the esc go direct to the motors....so do I connect them to the battery pack, then onto the motors, via plugs and sockets, of course?

This modern day electrickery stuff totally confuses me.... :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

Ah! Now i've looked it up and see that the ESC draws its power from the RX pack 'cos it's only a little lightweight unit suitable for your boat. This means that you don't need a main battery pack, but you do need to beef up the RX batteries as already discussed as they will be powering the model as well as the RX.

Get a replacement pack from Modelpower or the Component shop and go for one which is over 3,000mah capacity.

Thank Gawd it wasn't me being totally thick then!  %) %) %) ;)

Thanks for that Colin, that's solved the problem. It is only a tiny esc, about the only one I could fit in the Mighty Mo along with all the other stuff that's going in there.

Cheers me dear...
