Toisa Polaris
« on: November 08, 2008, 08:58:52 pm »

Hello,
Some time in 2009 if my plans go accordingly, I will have time on my hands to think about another model. The above vessel looks to be of interest to me but I must admit that my failing is that I just cannot seem to work out a scale size in relation to the full spec. Eg. The LOA is 113.57mts (375ft approx)and width is 22mts (72 ft approx).

Now, in order to obtain a basic hull and for this vessel to sit in the car boot and not being too heavy  would a scale of 1/2" = 5ft be the correct way of calculating coming out at about 38" and who should I approach to purchase such a Hull.

Thanks again for you patience and look forward to any replies with interest. Bernard.

At 375ft, to get a model of 38", divide by 118.

375 x 12 = 4500"
4500" / 38" = 1:118

1/2" to 5ft = 1:120.... so near enough.
