Dear Colin H.,

I have been out of it for a long time now, and the whole scale of things and their technicalities left me behind about ten or fifteen years ago! <:( I was not involved with such massive scale operations as shown on the Links, but I was aware of the 'then' principals, what goes on now is/are extremely clever computer designed sequences so to achieve maximum effect - both production and cost. To set up something like those rounds takes very clever people, not only in design but the actual work of drilling and loading the holes, and, then, most important of all, connecting everything up! As you say, the cord is extremely fast and very very effective, but, one line out of sequence, one bad connection, and it can spoil the whole round. I have great admiration for those technical field staff who have to put it all together! O0 :-))

Regards, Bernard

p.s. Hope you are felling better now!!! {-)

Hi Bernard, not too hard, only 2 of the choices you make are relevant up to the last screen and then with some computer trickery (you can only open one door at a time) it's a done thing :-))

Yep. And that's computer trickery as in "a couple of lines of code".

Hi all, yes it is nice and easy when you think about it!

This is a simple card trick on similar lines to the last PC one.  You can do this with cards though, maybe at Christmas, and the little ones love it.

Take 21 cards at random, it must be 21.  Do this before announcing what you are going to do.

Ask someone to choose a card and remember it and put it back in the pack unseen.

Deal out the cards into 3 piles face up i.e. cards 1, 2 and 3 are the start of the 3 piles. then card 4 goes on card 1, 5 on 2, and card 6 on the 3rd pile.  Carry on distributing the cards in sequence into the 3 piles and ask the chooser which pile their card is in.

Then pick up the 3 piles of cards ensuring the chosen card pile is in the middle of the other 2 piles.
Do the same thing again, and ask again which pile and the chosen card is in.

Then repeat the above again and again put the chosen pile into the middle.

Now, not being too obvious about it, count to the 11th. card and show this as it is the chosen card.
Good luck with it, best try it on your own first.

I am not into card tricks just remember this from about 50 years ago!

regards to all, Roy
