West London Model boat clubs?
« on: March 28, 2009, 06:10:34 pm »

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for somewhere to sail my new r/c boat I am building, and I can't seem to find any model boat clubs in my area. It's a Flower Corvette, HMS Bluebell.

Searching this forum I found an old thread about clubs in North London, and a gentlemen said there was a club called Broomfield model boat club, but that thread was 2007, and when I posted there the forum suggested I start a new thread. So here I am.

I was also wondering if I am able to sail my boat in Gunnersbury Park, which is just down the road. I can't find out any information about sailing there, rules regulations etc.

Basically I want to find somewhere local I can play with my boat... {-)

Shameless 'Bump'

Still wondering about clubs to join. I have found one in Luton and one which is a bit further away in the new forest.

Another question I have, is where do I find out information regarding local lakes and if i can sail in them or not? According to the Gunnersbury Website their is a lake in there which people 'used' to sail model boats. I would like to find out if I'm still allowed to or not.

Sorry to sound stupid, but that was the first thing I tried. The only one 'near' to me is in Kensington, Central London as is sailing ships only. I guess they don't have a u-boat problem.
The rest of the links are for clubs that are not anywhere near west London. Surely I'm not the only bloke in west London who wants to sail model warships??? Maybe I am??? :((
