I spent an enjoyable few hours at the show today.  Lots of people about and plenty to see.   The saddest thing is the number of boats in the museum collection which they can't afford to restore or even prevent from deteriorating  :((

I've added another boat to my  "want to build some day" list.   I've thought for a while that I should perhaps have something a bit smaller and electric that could be taken around easier than the other models on my list which are all in the 4 foot long range.   I think I've found the answer.  A very pretty model only 27 1/2 inches long, Mountfleet Models River Queen.

Also a public word of thanks to the lovely lady on their stand.   The River Queen has a couple of circular tank or bunker lids which are just what I have been looking for as water tank filler covers for my launch.  Though they don't normally sell separate fittings, she kindly agreed to send me a couple for not much more than the postage.

Our resident smoke generator seemed to be getting plenty of interest in his products.

It was lovely to be back at the museum.   Next year maybe I'll bring nb Virgo up and live in the basin  :-)

If  you're wondering whether or not to go tomorrow then I'd say you'll have a good day out for a mere £3

cheers

Hi guys, I managed to get there today for an hour or so, it is great back at the museum, brings back old memories, plenty of good models on display and I got a smoker for my Flower, LOL!
At the moment, it don't look good for flying over tomorrow to take ariel shots due to the wind, but, I will only know in the morning for sure. If we can do it, my tail reg will be G-IIFR, I broke xtek in the wind today again! %)

:-)) Thanks and congratulations from the Derby M.B.C. boys. We have enjoyed a great day at the show and really enjoyed being back at the Boat museum.Let's hope that all the traders who used to attend will flock back to this event when the word spreads that it appears to have been well attended today.Hope you have a successful day Sunday and you feel it worth all the effort to repeat it next year.We would love to see it back on the regular fixture list.
Anyone unsure about attending Sunday?I'd say go for it ,a great three quids worth and some interesting demo's and displays.

:-)) :-))Congratulations - back to this excellent venue and a brilliant result for all who organised it.

It was a pity yesterday that some people couldn't park sensibly and blocked a number of us in by parking three deep but non the less I really enjoyed my day.

Lets only hope that the August madness of competing events could also be brought back tho this venue which as well as being more sensible would also support the museum which I am sure all model boat enthusiasts would welcome.

Well done to all concerned

I would like to thank the Ellesmere port boat club for organising such an excellent weekend.
It was a model boat show by model boat enthusiasts for model boat enthusiasts.
It was great to see a lot of old friends and to make some new ones.
Those who did  not know do not know what they missed.
All I can say is that it was brilliant, a great big thank you to everyone involved. You all deserve a pat on the back.
I look forward to seeing you all again at the next tug towing event.
Many thanks

   ...Hi Guys...

First of all " A Big Well Done" To The Ellesmere Port Club & Helpers...It looks like your show was a Great  Success...

Secondly, My Apologies for not being there myself but due to current family happenings & next weeks trip to Northern Ireland to chaperone my Father on a Family Visit which takes in St Patricks Day in Downpatrick I just couldn,t make it Today...

I hope the rest of The Jocksters behaved themselves...and spent some money...

I am now more dtermined to make it to the North East Show later in the Month...

A good show at an impressive venue.  Thanks and a big "Well done" to all who must have put a lot of work into a bold venture so early in the year.
As there looks to be room for more exhibitors, both club and trade, lets hope it becomes a major season opener in the north west.
I just hope the car parking can keep pace with the popularity it deserves to gather.

Hi everyone, This was my first time at this venue. Very beautiful surroundings and very well organised  :-)).
Had a great two days there.Got to put my lifeboat on the water for the first time(unpainted - all in white). It was good to see that everything was working how it should. It was great to see the interest from other modellers and they are not afraid to come up and ask questions. Very friendly atmosphere and I hope to return in the future. Well worth the 550 mile round trip  %%.
Thankyou to everybody who was there.
