My Latest Tug

Well finally after 2 years work, here it is. I spotted the real thing in Fremantle harbour during it's maintenance schedule. She works around the Australian coast & at the time was involved in Bass Strait operations. I was allowed to take a few photos & have built it with some imagination below the waterline.
The model is 4 ft long with a fibreglass hull & plywood superstructure. It has 2 motors, horn sound module & simulated exhaust cooling water.

I was in Freemantle earlier this year and i noticed there was a few really nice looking tugs there. Big moddern ones, really big! I never saw this one though. The maratime museum which is just next to the docks is fantastic too.

Hi all, I echo that. The Maritime museum in Fremantle is much better than the one we have at Greenwich. Mind you we don't get that wind though!!!
regards and Merry Christmas.

Corrado, a beautiful looking model.
BTW, I have finally started building the Grand Banks cruiser, and the photos you sent me of yours have been invaluable, thank you.

Congratulations Corrado, great looking tug. What pump do you use for the "simulated exhaust cooling water." This is a nice and unusual feature. I might add this to my Amsterdam.
Again, great build.
Best

Hi Wilhelm,
I use a windscreen washer pump from a car, but I only run it on 3 volts...at this low rpm the pump doesnt get hot at all... easily done & I reccomend it for any working model.
Thanks for your kind comments Guys..............Corrado.
