Woke up this morning to the thermometer reading a brisk -28C just before sunrise. Just got back in from my morning walk, the temp came up to a balmy 15C (not including wind chill). The local plow was finally getting around to its morning duties.
  Great day to spend inside and get some modeling done.

I have no idea!  The council in the area i live in is a shambles.  Im surprised we have roads at all some times

  I've been wondering about ours this year. Last year the works department went on strike all winter. Got snowed in a couple of times. This year they're back, but we don't get our roads plowed until mid day and not at all on weekends. Previous to the strike it was done by 6AM to allow school buses to get through. Now the buses make their own path.
  Service is all down hill.

Yes they have a ram behind each blade,which can shove snow left,right or straight ahead

judging by your picture and the temperatures you are experiencing  you need the plows far more than we do.  We need umbrellas more than anything during our winters.

  That's about it. The attached pics are from last March. The plow in the above picture is at the bottom of the hill in the following pictures. Thats my pickup truck in the picture, my farm is on the left.
We won't be able to do boats outdoors until May. We can still get frost till the last weekend in May.

  That's gotta be nice. At one time I didn't mind the cold, but last winter it started to get to me. Must be an age thing. Mind you we get up to +30C here too during the summer. A swing from - 30 to + 30.......its a wonder we don't go through thermal shock.

  Usually it is wider , but if the snow gets as great as it was last year, there ends up being little place to  put it. That means calling out a snow blower which is expensive. They've done that for main roads, but not normally for a side road like mine.

Thats the one thing I missed when I left Canadian as a kid, the winter. Snow, snow and more snow. Outdoor skating in the local parks tobogganing up at the golf course. sliding down hills with the shovel or a cardboard box if the shovel wasn't available. Catching on to car's bumpers hitching a slide along the road. Snowball fights. total white outs. Also made a few dollars cleaning the snow off peoples pavements (sidewalks).
