That's a nice looking boat in the Wings & Wheels show report. What is it? Motor yacht? Fisheries protection? Or is it a freelance design? Looking more closely at it, and estimating the size of the "crew" from the height of the doors, how do they get along the side decks? By crawling?

Going by the height of the deck overhead there is no way you could walk there, it is a very nice model, but that detail does seem to spoil it a bit, the doorways and head room of the other decks means that to walk under the upper deck you must be only a four year old....

Good one mate going by the pics, it is not a companionway, so therefore the model is correct, and it is still a great looking boat...

You are quite right, it's not correct, by studying the second thread which shows the deck plate and then checking the site, the picture of them smooth, smooth and more smooth, you will notice that the section under the walkway from the bridge extends to the sides of the hull, from the sketches i think they were supposed to put an access door way from the main deck up to the bow as there appears to be steps shown on centre, in fact you have to go through the boat to reach the stern as the steps from the sundeck block the companion way along the hull on both sides, one torturous route if you ask me, well it would keep you fit.

I've just had a look at the full-size builders web site. The models' superstructure around the bridge wing area does not look quite as it is on the real boat. Obviously, from looking at the real boat, it becomes apparent that the deckhouse sides go right out to the hull sides. Great looking yachts though, I'll drop them an e-mail if my numbers come up on the Euromillions draw this friday!

I drew the plans in Model Boats, and as far as I can recall I made a comment in the text about having to "go up and over" as the brochure and photos I had of the actual vessel showed this apparent anomaly.
