Hi Digger
I use B&Q Smokeless 2 Stroke Oil Semi synthetic. I mix it 60ml per liter of petrol. I have never had any probs with this set up.
I know some of the OMRA guys recommend Honda 2stroke oil. I haven't used it so can't comment.
Just a point, you say the engine slows down loss of power. Is the water cooling working? When it slows down are you getting loads of smoke?  How old is the engine. It is just possible that one of the bearings on the engine is not well. Also the drive line may be locking up. There are lots of things which can upset it. If you sure that it is the engine I know a Man who can rebuild you engine.
Best of luck.

hi bill the engine is less than 6 months old and the water cooling is fine it has new water o rings around the manifold , it was running fine for 15 - 20 mins then came in for fule  then whent out again after my needed fag and ran for 5 mins then the probs started when i got here back to shore i looked around and the only thing that i could see was the oil that was near the carb was very gunky ??????? i got it home and had a look in the carb filter at the bottom of carb there was a very small amount of crap , hardly nothing .

Hum!  Ok you say you refueled the boat after your 1st run. Then it played up??  That sounds like a fuel problem. If however it was the same fuel as the 1st run then I would be looking at the engine. Dose it turn over the same as normal? Could be worth taking the head off to check the piston & ring are all A1. That can be done with the engine in the boat.
