Hi Paul,
This is an old hull and it arrived like that. I didn't bother you with it as it wasn't one of yours. I purchased it about 5/6 years ago from a Sirmar stockist. The twist was along its length but I sorted it by building in ribs and using stringers to straighten it :)
Just dragged the motors out and they aren't 280 class, they are smaller Mabuchi motors about 1" in diameter and about 40mm long (1 1/2"). Should be OK i hope. Have you any suggestions on electrical supply? I wondered about making up a 7.2v pack in two sticks of 3 and placing each side of the hull. Any idea what the models displacement is?
Another question, should the deck be fitted onto the FG hull or recessed flush with the top of the hull?
And the best bit, I paid too much attention to the actual scale than the dimensions and was rather surprised when this diddy hull arrived in the post. I was expecting something about 3 ft long.

DOH!!! Anyway I had paid for it so it got put back in its packaging and put away. And now 5 years on I have a workshop of sorts (bench in the loft and a new shed on the way) so I have made a start. I have scratchbuilt before and had a go at kits (some instructions are interestingly vague) but this is my first semi kit and I find that now I have made a start I am enjoying it. This is the first time I used a fibre glass hull that wasn't in a kit and it was daunting at first but once I started cutting the nerves have gone.
I have another of your semi kits awaiting my attention and that is the TID tug this one is 6/7 years old and has been waiting patiently for me to make a start on it.
Feeling brave enough to tackle a warship next year preferably WW2. Unless you have a HMS Antelope (Falklands Era) in the offing by then.
