Jetski propulsion unit in large V hull
« on: March 29, 2009, 11:13:04 pm »

I have a large V hull of fibreglass. The dimensions are width 21 inches, length 60 inches ( 5 feet), and height at transom of 10 inches. Obviously this hull has voluminous amounts of inside room and I've been toying with the idea of using a drive from a small jetski for propulsion. Is this practical?

Thanks

I guess it depends on the size of the engine, will it fit in the hull? The next consideration is how much cash you are willing to throw at it? We all like boats here but you have to remember it is a boat, as an acronym it could well stand for "Break Out Another Thousand" regardless of full size or model.
Even at that size you can have a good sport boat with a Zenoah, tuned pipe and traditional hardware. A relatively simple way to go with lots of expertise and parts available.
