New member with another Flower Corvette conversion...
« on: March 31, 2009, 04:56:24 pm »

Hello everyone,

Thank you for letting me join this great little community. From digging around I have already founds lots of useful information and learned a few good tricks.

I have just started building my first r/c model boat. I decided to do to the classic Revell HMCS Snowberry conversion as I have a lot of previous experience building and painting plastic models. With that in mind I figured this would be the easiest entry point. We all need to start somewhere!

After searching around the forum I found lots of other members have done this conversion too and there a several threads on this topic. What I was wondering was if anyone would mind terribly much if I started a fresh build log for my Flower Class Corvette conversion. I though it would be the best way to keep all my 'stuff' in one place. I think I might need some advice along the way and thought it might be good to keep all my learning in one place!

As most builders have differing approaches and may have useful tips to pass on, go ahead. Those who are disinterested need not read it. Lots of pictures help.

I suggest you give your thread a clear title such as, "Flower Corvette conversion by jonny shoreboy. March 2009".

Welcome aboard.
If you ask 20 modellers a question, you will likely get 40 different answers.  Some of these will be practical.
One good thing is, there are many ways of doing any particular job, each with its own pros and cons and its always good to see somebody else's take.  Another good thing about build blogs is that there is an element of "warts and all" which is rare in magazine reviews.
