Brass boiler bands HELP
« on: March 24, 2009, 09:10:26 pm »

Hi
Whats the best way to fix the brass bands round a boiler, what I need to know is how are the bands tightened to hold the wood in place.
Any help appreciated.

The ends of the band are bent to form a tab, drill a hole in each one then pass a bolt through then a nut on the bolt. When you screw the nut & bolt up the band will tighten up on the wood lagging, ensure that the tabs with the nut & bolt are at the underside of your boiler thus hidden from view.
