These I make for the kids, people love them but I only
build them sometimes as they take a fair bit of time to make........

Ghost, they're called B doubles, and it looks like a Mack to me. Roy will have to confirm it.

Here's a photo of a typical Aussie road train, as opposed to a B double or B triple, with 3 trailers. These can be seen anywhere in outback Australia, although they are restricted to through roads in most large towns.

The photo of the B triple shows the different wheel arrangement of these vehicles.

A-spec - semi trailer + semi trailer with king pin riding on a convertor dolly.

B-spec - semi trailer with half length load bay and a 5th wheel, second semi rides the 5th wheel of the lead.

B Triple is a Linfox truck, one of the biggest trucking companies in Australia, owned by Lindsay Fox (hence the name, Linfox) one of the richest men in Australia.

Neil,

I drove one regular for a while but not a timber jinker, mine were refridgerated freight
have never driven a jinker but have ridden in one, we used to have big road trains
over here with five trailers, I cannot find it at the moment,I had a photo of the rig
and it was turned and could run into it's own backside.................

The models are not really from any particular truck but can be painted to be Kenworths or Macks
or Freight Liners, Just kids toys started for the grankids, enede up with to many people wanting them..........

Peter,

They are a lot more solid then they look, oldest Grankid has had one for
four years now and it is almost still in one piece, as he lost some of the load
but they are just small branches, so easily replaced.

They take me two to three days to make depending on mistakes and bad wood,
thats why they are only made occasionally...........

there was a guy in this country, roy that made some of these toys, drew plans and instructions for them and put them into a book.
sold very many [ forgot his name] but it just reminded me.
 you have the same talent. would ther be an opening for that sort of  model and book for you down under.

We are currently in central western Queensland where 63 metre long road trains are common, and almost impossible to pass when towing a caravan, as I am.

Have any of you guy's been to the model show in Dortmund, Germany? in one of the halls they have a truck section with trucks I have never seen for sale in this country super detail in scale with working lights, diff lock and full suspension systems. The is one guy there every years who steers his truck round with a small camera in the drivers cab and he has a 6" LCD TV screen on the transmitter.
