No need to worry, genius at hand, I've had me Strongbow so I'm at the peak of my intelligence O0

Never built one but Kingston Mouldings make one, with glassfibre hull. Theirs is 42" long, and for scale speed they reccomend a pair of Monoperm Supers, or a pair of 385's. Meaning that yours using twin 650's will be WAY overpowered, but you do have a left thumb for a reason O0

Hi -  Welcome to the site, new here myself & it seems a great resource with some very helpful / knowledgeable people.

I'm not familiar with what you're building, so won't pretend to be able to help, but I'm sure others will be along to advise shortly...

Great location btw  :-))

Strongbow is my fuel mate ;)

Welcome to the forum by the way O0

A wise man once said "You can never have too much power in a boat, you have a left thumb for a reason". How right he was...

In answer to your question, yes, ACTion equipment is top notch, I fully reccommend Dave's kit, the mixer should be fine for it. Give him a ring and see what he says.

It shouldn't be difficult to control, so long as yoou leave control stick movements to a minimum. My Higgins Hellcat MTB is very edgey, I certainly wouldn't give it to anyone else to drive. At that size it should be fine.

I think the reason no one here has made this before is that Vic Smeed knocked them off so quickly no one ever had a chance to keep up with what plan he had next...

thanks for the advice andy...Ive been reading the build notes for the ltaleri schnellboot 100.. at a metre long its about the same size and i don't think there will be much more than a few pounds in weight difference.. mind you i do fancy one of those kits  even if I'm a old balsa basher at heart...IL post a pic when Ive finished the hull...

dear rasputin, is this the boat you are asking about, if so its 1/30th scale, with mine, i run single 545 motor, thru a 20 amp m-troniks viper, and a power pack of 7.2 volt 4600 mi-ah, driving a racing prop, so on full power she flys,  the deck is plywood, as is the pilot house, other parts of the build were from plastic card

thats the one keef...mind you if it looks half as good when im finished...she looks better than any plastic fantastic kit..work of art...i am thinking the 650,s are just going to eat juice and thrash water..it will be a learning curve..i have  been having a clearout of old plane kits and bits and bobs and found 2 540 motors..might go chicken and use them..like the thought of using the actions p94 to be able to steer with the engines and rudders..did you use m4 or m5? 40mm prop? is a racing prop 2 blade?..total novice on the boat propulsion front...thanks for the pic,s...gives me more of an idea to aim for...yup Ive seen the price andy...79.00..scary..mind you if the budgets anything to go on,best buy it now as im soon going to have loads of time on my hands (old builder you see)my condolences on hearing your strongbows gone up <:(

Twin 650's should be fine, we had one at the lake today that had an old hectoperm in it, was far too slow. Had great potential though. One bit of advise I gave here earlier, and would like to say again after the rolling around this one did is to place the motor and batteries as low as you can. I think I can advise the use of twin 650's / 540's on 6v, Should be good :-))

hi  rasptin,,   thanks for the praise, the prop shaft is a m 4 size, yes with a two blade racing prop, 40mm i think,  because of the hull shape and only using one prop, that was 12" long, with the 4600 6volt at fast speeds, i get around 30 mins run time, so i make sure have spare batterys on hand, also the battery is low in hull, and under the pilot house, as for my other s-boat thats the new plastic kit by italeri in 1/35th scale around the one metre mark, but thats got three working props and rudders, and runs for an hour+,      any more help just ask,
