The Harbour Gallery Boat Exhibition started today Saturday the 11th of April and will run until Monday 13th finishing at 4.30.. Rodger and I had 25 boats on show  upstairs in the Harbour Gallery. The hope was that a few member's of the public would join us on a 9 week course on boat building for beginners. Rodger and I had no idea that it would be so popular and this kept us on our toe's. We spoke to locals as well as the holiday maker's and most of the public found the model's on display fascinating. The detail on the boat's close up was the point of conversation, with the HMS Fencer on display with the plan's on the wall's and the Gun's, Sea fire's, and the Flight deck island all on the display. Rodger's collection of boats was superb with at least 14 finished boat's and 5 or 6 kit's for the public to see how cheap you can start up the hobby. We had some interest in the course once the public had seen the starter kit's.JMBC (www.Jerseymodelboats.com)card's were handed out (175 Plus)to every one who was interested in the boat's as all of the boat's on display are on our website. Many Thanks must go to the staff at the Harbour Gallery and also the Lifeboat appeal personal.
We would also like to thank the public who showed interest from the serving P&O passenger ship captain to the very kind gentleman who new the history of the HMS Fencer and the gentleman who spoke to us about three hand carved boat hull's and half hull's which are well over 150 year's old and are of old jersey ship's.
Thanks must go to Barry at model slipway who supplied the starter kits and some of the cranes free of charge for the exhibition.

We had a great weekend at the Harbour Gallery speaking to the public and holiday makers about the local boats. The bay of St Aubin in Jersey was a beautiful back drop for the Exhibition and we will be back later in the year.
