Elecric Sea Queen
« on: April 27, 2009, 05:27:20 pm »

Some 30 years ago my brother and I built an Aerokits Sea Queen and powered it with a Gannet 15cc.

My son has recently become interested and we've rescued the model from the family home, but the Gannet was sold some years ago.  Having cleaned it up, repainted the hull and paddling pool tested for a weekend, it seems waterproof.  Plan is to power it with an electric motor, but which one amongst the many now available?  Any suggestions/advice will be much appreciated.

If you're not familiar with the old Sea Queen it is about 4' long, maybe 14" wide, hard chine and quite heavily built of ply skins on ply formers.

Thanks,

Steve.

Hi Latestarter,
Have a look at Stavros Perkasa post on here fist time I have ever seen one of these models on the plan with an electric motor. Stavros has used the motor supplied by Marksmodelbits or nomustangmak and I can tell you they are awesome, just ordered two my self.
