fubata 6exa 35mhz problem
« on: May 04, 2009, 07:46:20 pm »

complete novice in this. just been offered the above at i think a good price, i know that the freq is wrong,
however looking on the internet at the american version of this, it says, the transmitter is either low band, 35
or below, or high band 36 plus, and it mentions crystals available for the receiver at 27mhz. Does that mean that by
changing the crystals in the receiver, would make it compatable for a boat. this is turning out more confusing then
rigging the sovereign of the seas.
thanks

It's illegal anyway you look at it. DTI. If 'twere me I'd say "thanks, but no thanks" and get a proper boat-legal set from a recognised dealer. If you're a complete novice then you need to avoid as many problems as you can, not walk straight into them!

Suit yourself.

Crystals normally only affect the frequency within a band, rather than full on band changes. I vert much doubt a crtystal change will get it in the right band.

With all the little differences between what is allowed in different countries, I would make sure I bought from the UK anyway.
