Lovely job as always bernard.  How do you control the engine though, arrange for it to simply control from a tickover to full speed?

Hi......Thanks........i have to set the speed.. before i let it go in the lake,,,,,,,i have see many Midwest launch with the one cylinder use to do that..............bot maby one day i will find a small 2 cylinder Cheddar,,,,,,,,,,,i can control

You could still have a degree of control by arranging the servo travel to go from a slow tick over to full speed at full throttle.  You would have to make sure that with a reduced boiler pressure the slow tickover did not become a stop!!

Very nice! You could use a Kitchen rudder for controlling the speed and reversing and avoid stalling the engine.

Hi Bernhard.......as I have acknowledged in Paddle Ducks,,,,,, brillant work again.......but I do have two questions of Image 0210

1) to empty the condenser in the bow ......do you just unscrew the vertical stub piece & open the isolation valve & extract the oily condensate via a needle?
2) do you always remove the gas tank prior to refilling??????????..........Derek

Thanks Derek..........i Allways take the gastank aut when i refilling it...thats easy,,,,........i just open the littel valve,,in the front of tank....sometimes i allso close the valve near the boiler,,so all the steam go true the copper tank

As long as the relevent precautions are taken there is no reason why filling the gas tank in the model should be an issue.  Unfortunately though using a Ronson type of filling valve pretty much dictates that you should remove it.

Another nice little hull Bernhard!! I have a little Stuart like that and a spare vertical boiler...you get me to thinking more ambitiously!!

Hi Bernhard......I see the lantern, two ropes......the revised 90 degree discharge from the condenser & name plate....... ........but one more question.......

From this .jpg....it appears that the height of boiler is say 50% above the waterline....does this have any stability issue?........Derek

hi..........no no problem........i have lead bullet in the bottom off the hull...so it is real low in the water..........

The exposed servo for the rudder "with the roping" to control direction is a wonderful solution...Did you build the hull or finish it out with your ideas and styling?
