Stevenage Model Boat Club Scale Day June 14th
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:47:41 pm »

Our annual Scale day is announced for the 14th June, so come along :-))

All shapes, sizes and ages of scale boats are welcome, and we have club 500's along too.

Last year we had about 40 people in attendance, was hard to count them as they all kept b**** moving around...

The Luton club attends each year in force, and brings their 8ft test tank model Somersby tanker along, for all to play with. Goes on in the morning and don't come off till early evening. Lear before last we also had an 8ft Yamato with about 22 channels on for working features, a couple of subs, and a hydroboat thing which I managed to blow up...

See our website below my posting for website with details on how to get there

I expect springers will be more than welcome

See you all there :-))

just a short note that Luton will be attending with Somersby...all welcome to control her. We done the same at Black Park last year where more than 40 people took control through out the day. It really is like controlling a real boat....as she takes ages to stop ...even in full reverse!!!! All other boats stay out the way!!!

Great photos Andy..... the Sindy doll in the outboard dingy doesn't look very realistic though.....

It was a good day yes, be nice to see some mayhemers next year.

By the way, the little steam tug that looks as if it isn't finished is my latest, as I say it isn't finished, has all the details to put on, but using a very hot 540 motor on 7.2v, it can tow me in our very heavy rescue boat quite nicely O0 I used it to stop the somersby having a crash (no easy thing to do, it weighs more than the rescue boat...) and to generally bully a few boats about. Very pleased with it so far :-))
