has anyone here used hornby skale scenic field grass. what is it for. looks to be to stiff to be making grass tufts from it. had a quick look on internet for pictures of it in use but got bored trawling through endless sites with no pictures.

I found this supplier listing it and other Skalescenics products:http://www.newmodellersshop.co.uk/Model%20Railway/scenery-skalescenics.htm

It's scenery material for model railways and any modeling requiring terra ferma type scenery modeling. It is used to mimitate grass in the various modeling scales. An outfit called Woodland Scenics markets similar items for the same use.

i have used woodland scenics field grass and that is able to be made into tufts that droop like as in prairie grass but i like the hornby range of colours better. i cant see how their field grass could be made to droop. it looks too stiff . thanks for your efforts though oldiron.

Try the Heki range of grassing materials (search on Google for a supplier) these are also excellent and fine enough to bend/droop and the range is huge. Many fine scale railway modellers use this company's products. Or visit:

www.internationalmodels.net

as they have a great range of this type of grass scenic material plus other very interesting scenic items (they are a UK based firm). Another UK company called "Green Scene" (search again via Google) also supplies this type of scenic material, plus other useful scenic stuff.

Cheers
