Propellor to suit Graupner Speed 480
« on: July 16, 2009, 06:27:28 pm »

As a new convert to boats advice required. Our club is running a "foamy" competition which to start with sounded quite simple.  Make a boat 24" * 9" to carry 1lb of water as fast as you can around an obstacle course.
The boats built motor (385)  fitted with the as  reccomended by the supplier 40mm 2 blade prop. This motor burnt out but as they are only a fiver I replaced it with a 480 this also quit.
Is the prop wrong? I have now lashed out and purchased a Graupner Speed 480 what size prop would you recommend.

You need about a 35mm 2 bladed prop with a very fine pitch on it.

What you dont want is a racing type prop.
