Problem sending Private Messages

I've been trying to send a PM to Tolnhedra but when I hit the send button all that happens is I get the Inbox "Welcome" message which I was sent when I joined the Forum. I've tried checking the "Keep a copy in the Outbox" box but still nothing.
Am I doing something daft or is it the infernal machine?
