Mmmm, well my other interests are having a slurp of fine wines and also mediaeval British history. I want to eventually take my degree in mediaeval social studies. I am also very interested in WW2, especially from the Axis point of view. German WW2 airplanes are a strong interest, and I used to write for a corporate site on the subject.

Yes....I have NO life!

Youngat65,
Never add sugar to concrete!  On second thought, try it once to see what happens :).
Forget the readymix, use copper!  Wait a while and it'll turn green all by it's self.  Beautiful!

you yanks got 30 hours in a day or what?

Where do you get the time?
Hey, boatmadman,

No, to the question as to number of hours, just retired.  I've been so for almost 5 years now.  I probably would have more hobbies, if I had more money. ::)  If it were possible, I'd like to visit my "across the pond buddy", Martin.

Hey Riggers24, I take the occasional landscape shot and a couple have been not bad, I suspect more by accident than design!

Have you seen the price of copper on world markets? It would be cheaper to hire Donald Trump to push your mower.

I'd go with the Donald Trump option, mainly because I'd like to get a closer look at that hairstyle.

I like to ride my Honda, being in Australia we have a bit better weather than most of you guys over in the old country (pommyland) and also a lot more open space with lots of windy roads up and down, and as I am now retired I enjoy repairing peoples computers, I also make small display cabinets, and logging semi trailer models for kids from timber, I seem to have most boating fields covered as I have been building since before radio control came out, (yes I am an old Fart) yachts, warships, tugs, speedboats, Subs, hovercraft and anything else that floats.  She who will be obeyed fortunately doesn't mind what I do as long as I am not annoying her, so whatever you do may I suggest that you just simply enjoy!!!!

well when not sailing, i sometimes dress up in army gear and go to airsoft events armed with a 6mm bb gun based on the P90, chase the "enemy" down and shoot them, whilst they do the same to me.

eye protection is a must, and face masks are preffered!

nothing better than crawling through the mud and waiting for that kill!

Other hobbies?

Hmm, how many would you like?  ;D

On the car front I have a 1974 Vauxhall HP Firenza (nicknamed a 'Droop Snoot') which was the last one made out of 204 and has never been registered. Probably never will be now, thanks  to the machinations of the DVLC. When I retire I plan to get it running and haul it round to some shows. I also have a 1976 Sports Hatch, an estate version of the Firenza and even rarer, only 197 or them were made.

Sticking with transport I have a few Moulton bikes, '60s period ones, not the more modern versions. I have a Safari, (the first one sold to the public) a Speedsix, a Deluxe, a Major and two Mini 4s. Not many of these are rideable at the same time  :D

To other forms of modelling, I have an American N scale exhibition layout called Smalltown USA and plans to build a much bigger layout in my loft, but many people say that too........

I make plastic aircraft kits, 1/72 scale military from WWII to modern, and major in converting them to variants the full size manufacturers seem to have missed out on building! I do 1/144 scale airliners as well, and I'm a member of various groups who cater for both of these activities.

I do a lot of MS Flight Simulator flying, both at home on a custom built PC that's prime purpose in life is doing just that, and also on my laptop when I'm working away. I do LOTS of that sadly, so the practical hobbies tends to take a back seat during the working week.

As my wife says, it keeps me off the streets..........

Bob

I should think the real thing stings quite a bit more than a paint ball or airsoft pellet!!!!!!  And you can't go home at the end of the day.

Each to his own

Cheers

In the height of summer I fly radio control planes - not very well either!. I usually go out with a plane and come back with a bag of bits, that gets recycled and becomes an experimental boat - which more often than not sinks. So I end up sailing my trusted aircraft carrier. And so the cycle goes on. Never mind eh? keeps me out of mischief.

I just started again building up some airplane kits like Airfix. Mostly RAF/NAVY and USAF/Marines/NAVY planes from ww2.

Before I was uprooted and moved from Canada to Europe, I was working on restoring my 1972 TR6.  As well I was involved with a local naval museum, building exhibits and working on stabilising artifacts.  I've attached some examples, a replica of a Bangor class minesweeper mess deck and a Carley float I found in a ship breakers yard.
