Are Hitec and Futaba compatible?? Or is summat amis

(1/3) > >>

tigertiger:
I have a Futaba attack 2 ER transmiter set.
I have just plugged a Hitec 815BB into the reciever.

The 815BB should have 140degree of turn. However when I tested the beast it only rotates through about 90 degrees :(.

What am I doing wrong? ???

cbr900:
Hi Mate probable nothing as Hitec winches do rotate differently in different radios, I have several hitec winches and they do the same thing, it will rotate the full four turns if used with a hitec radio...

A lot depends on what you hope for from compatiblity.  All of the major manufacturers products will work together to an extent.
All of the makers want you to stick to just their products, so dont expect total like for like.  If you move the stick left or right, and the servo does the same on both transmitters, thats probably as near as it gets.
You will notice that while all have now settled on a common pin spacing and layout, most have odd bits of moulding to make it just that bit more difficult to plug in a different makers product.

Peterm:
You may find compatibility of Hitec and Futaba crystals a bit of a problem.   Pete M

I have bought generic (ie not badged) 40mhz AM crystals from Howes and Anglia Model Centre. I have used them in both Futaba and Hitec sets with no problems.
