A couple of transmitter questions???
« on: September 08, 2009, 01:39:10 pm »

Hi all,

Firstly.

Can a skysports 6 'FP-T6VA' transmitter work on 40MHz as long as you have a 40MHz receiver? I think I read some where it could ages ago.

Second question.

Does anyone use the Hitec Zebra 3ch?

I have been looking at the Zebra for a torpedo boat. Standard controls and using the third channel to switch lights on or use it to switch a sound unit on.

The Skysport is for a future build (Leander). I intend to have working funnel sound and lights with either tank control or with a mixer.

I have been offered a reasonable deal on both and want to know if they will suet my purposes before laying out the cash?

Many thanks for any help,

Mark

Thanks for that. I'll be picking it up in the next few days TX & RX £8. No crystals or servos (I've got a host of them).

Does anyone have any info on the Skysport 6 transmitter? It's the non computerised. I read the manual online and it says it transmits on a various amount of bands. My mate selling it uses it on 35mhz. But just want to confirm ot works on 40Mhz as well because he is down in England just now and will have to post it.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark47,

The short answer is NO you cannot make this TX work on the 40Mhz band just by changing the crystals.

You can only change the crytals within the specific band range the Tx is set up for.... in this case the 35Mhz  (aircraft) band.

The TX is available configured for several bands between 27Mhz and 75Mhz but the specific band is factory set and tuned.

You would need to send it back to the manufacturer, or their agents, to have it re-tuned for 40Mhz use.

Sorry.

Best regards.

Thanks, I think that answers my question. :-))

I've been away from models for years now and thought that it may have been some advancement on a generic TX I had missed whist I was away.

Many thanks,
