Hi I am in the RC hobby approximately 15 years
i done a free flight models f1a f2a
All in Ramat Gan Aeroclub of Israel
After a while i decided to go RC all my models are homemade like i build them from scratch
After several years building RC gliders i find myself on the water building fast RC boats

The water sport in Israel is not developed there is no clubs of RC boats, ships ,sailboats.
Only the Aero Club of Israel that has a model section only in the air like free flight f3 j etc...

I am interested in developing the water sport!
I have couple friends that build RC boats and RC sailboats the reaction of the observers that gathers around us when we are sailing is astonishing
I think there is have to be some kind of organization to the model boats like in every developed country

My question is how can we start organization to be able to compete each other and maybe to compete world wide
i will be glad to any suggestion's

I would start my own club then if there are a few of you
put it on the net and hopefully more will join you

and start to compete amongst yourselfs
for various competitions and advertise it so others may become involved

It will be the starting point for us to gather more interested in the hobby

the differant catagories I take as meaning all the competition rules and the like
I don't know of any standard but here is the MPBA and the Scottish Federation links

Both these have information relevant on them

If I was you I would start off with some open fun days and try an encourage others to start modelling
before starting to go down the route of major comepetitions. When you start you coud have a
steering/navigation contest and "best in show" competition. it also helps to encourage people
if you have some boats they could have a shot of before they go and buy a boat and spend
some hard earned money only to find they don't like model boats

Start to speak to local councils/government they may be able to give grants and the like to help set up a club
When my dad and others started a club the local council gave them £1000 to help buy things like waders,
new paint for the club house and a trophy for the club. If you don't ask you don't get

The world organisation is called Naviga http://naviga.org/ with sections for scale, sailing, electric and various forms of powerboats (hydro, FSR-V and Offshore). To compete internationally you will need to persuade an existing RC body to join Naviga or create a national organisaton that joins Naviga.
RC sailing seems mainly to be organised under the International Sailing Federation http://www.sailing.org/home.php

Wow thanks it is very helpful information
For now I build fast electric rigger thaw i ordered sail boat Monsoon 900
It's for fun to attract people when all the speed boat batteries discharge and to show several
Model sections
Color full models attract people a observe and be interested in
I have made some calls to gather boaters from around the country
To go sailing in the lake and attract people to be interested in boating

It's a great work you done there with all the detailed pictures
I have built 7 electrical boats so far
But never a sail boat hope it will not be a problem
After seeing your all detailed pictures

All the boats i build are from composite materials i use balsa fore sandwiching structures
The EXPERT I and EXPERT II
Those hulls made of foam shaped by mi own designs laminated with carbon fiber
The best thing in foam its melts with a contact of acetone
I remove the foam there is no reaction of the acetone with the carbon fiber and the epoxy resin I use

If you are still looking for site h information on magel boat racing ect.. here is one from the US that i visit withttp://www.rcunlimiteds.org/
But i agree with the others start by getting you fellow boaters together and start your own club and see where it goes from there

the problem now is different we are building the boats from scratch from my designs not from original tested designs the problems accrue on the water
in Israel there are no professional boat builders to take there advise so all my models are R&D projects
i am have experience for building RC gliders and have all the necessary information on building good reliable competition gliders
but boats are different we have still long way to do until we will be able to compete professionally

This may be true. But,you can still use this as a guide line and maybe start a new class of boats. They all had to start some where even the pro guys. I do wish you luck and please keep us informed as to how you are making out with this project.

I will look for new boat plans after I finish the rigger
the expert 2 is the fastest model that I have so far well it's still not perfect

hello to all after several mounts of intensive forum debuts we arranged a group of boat lovers

there are lot of sailboats in the local lake

After several mounts of expectation we had finely our firs RC sail contest

I am glad that finely we are a small community that is growing every weekend

last time we had 8 sail boats in the lake

the idea is to do 2 category's for now first is the RC Sails most popular is the monsoon 5 of them now 2 kiosho see wind a couple of triumfs

and the second is general motor boats floating around for now:)
