« on: September 14, 2009, 05:04:02 pm »

Hi to one and all  Im so fed up with getting my boats getting all chipped along the wall at our lake,so Im going to build a mooring stage to moor the boats along side when im not playing.
So im after all the ideas on how to make a very good one  that will take my two boats that im sailing every sunday and also its got to be big enough to moor my new boat Sir Lancelot im open to all on ways to build and any drawring or photo will help me .
Thats it for now so thank you so much.

Would a plank of wood made water resistant with bits of rubber along the outer edge suffice? it would stop scratches and would be fairly portable.
It would be fairly easy to make it look decent  :-)

Hi Wallace.
Have you tried the swimming aids on sale in a lot of supermarkets, the long plastic foam tubes, I use a couple of these  to keep my models of the walls at our local lake, they are cheap and lightweight, they also bend to fit in the boot of the car, just a couple of lengths of twine and you have your fenders.

when you moor them will you be switching off the radios
or will the radios still be switched on

if the radios are switched on you could make a large-ish lump of lead and attach it to the bow
take the boat out into the water dragging the lead then drag it back in and remove it when you
go to sail it. not much extra to carry and you don't need to keep too much of an eye on it as if it
was moored at the side there could be small wandering hands looking to it :-))
