restoring an old electric motor
« on: April 20, 2011, 09:45:44 am »

I have an old electric motor from a Bassett Lowke boat from the 1930s, that I'd like restoring. Does anyone know who might be able to do this for me since I don't think I can do it myself.
I'd be happy to pay for it.

cheers,
miles

The UJ and the two right angled mounting brackets are Meccano, and the main plates look to be home made rather than "BL" standard.

Is that a digital power supply switch stuck to the side of the hull?

Digital as in: "on" or "off".  %)

I agree, it's not a BL motor. Perhaps I should look for one rather than restoring this, but they are quite pricey and rarely come up on ebay.
