Gary,

Squires still do hand drills, a Draper at £11.99 and a Stanley at £14.99 plus a pistol type at £10.99. I don't think there is any real demand for them in the mainstream stores now as cordless drills have taken over. Interesting about the Dremel though. I wonder if the modelling shows will be carrying them at lower prices next year?

Gary,

Are you sure this is not a pre Christmas 'loss leader'? I notice that several stores are offering deals on different items providing you buy before the end of the month (November).

Colin,

Adding 'model' to anything usually adds cost not remove it in my experience  >:(

Cheers

Very true Doug, and adding "Marine" takes it to a different level altogether!  ;)

Incidentally a Google on the Stylus gives several suppliers offering it at between £51.83 and £56. You have to add carriage if you buy over the Web but one of them is a tool supplier quite near to me.

When it comes to tools, I'm an abuser, so I always buy the cheapest available. I now patronise our local Wilkinsons (also good for adhesives) and QD. I used to buy on the market, but now they are no cheaper than the above shops.

I use a tiny Minicraft drill that I have had  for years, but I think they are out of production now.I love then because you can control the speed by rubbing your thumb on the chuck!!

As long as it's just your thumb!   ;)
