Kingston Upon Hull
« on: October 27, 2009, 11:08:45 am »

Wondered if any of the forum members live in Hull and could give me the name  (and web site if possible) of model shops who sell Thunder Tiger sailboats.  I know there are a few outlets on the web but the postage for yachts due to their mast size and ballast weights are a bit high - I 'm only about an hours ride away from Hull if I knew where to visit.

Many Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

I used to live near Kingston upon Hull, Boat stocking model shops are few and far between I'm afraid.

If you don't mind ordering items, you could try Just Kits on Hessle road almost opposite the Total fuel station, The owner is a tad difficult to get on with but he will be able to get hold of the Thunder tiger things as he does stock aircraft, heli's and cars also some boat kits.

You could also try The Model shop on Ferrensway opposite the train station, I'm not sure if he could help you out? I only knew the shop well when i used to go when John Morgan the previous owner ran the shop and has since retired about 4 years ago. John was a true gentleman and nothing was any trouble for him, if it existed he could and would get it for you!

Apart from these two suggestions i can't think of anywhere else you could try unless you went for a 50 min drive to see Dave Cropper at Bridlington.

Hope this helps

Thanks Ian - I might even try the Bridlington one when I feel like a ride out during the next few weeks.  Does he have a reasonable stock of boats? - can't say I've ever heard of him but I'll do a search on the web.

Thanks Mate

Ian.

Hi Ian,

Dave Cropper is on Lansdown road, Bridlington.

I don't think he has much in the way of R/C models, he mainly sells plastic kits but does sell and can get ready to run and self assembly boat kits in for you.

Dave also sells plenty of Radio sets and all the goodies to go with them at reasonable prices, also he is starting to stock a good range of new boat fittings.

Cheers
