When my motherboard failed recently I lost all of my "favourite" bookmarks, one of which I cannot now locate (memo to self - Keep a hard copy in future!).

The site was a forum which I believe was of Australian origin and run by someone called John (that was the only name that occurred frequently). There was never much activity on the site BUT there were some useful links to articles which I believe he had salvaged from another (and now defunct) site.

Does anyone recall this site and offer me a link to it?
There are similar a sort of articles on http://www.modelgasboats.com/ but not the ones that I am looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

You can save your bookmarks when you do a backup. There should be a bookmarks file, if you have done a complete backup at anytime before you mother board went west.

I suffered a catastrophic computer failure and ended up in the same boat! :((

Scuse the terrible pun! {-) O0

I now keep all important info on an additional 120Gig hard drive slaved to the main drive, this is where I keep all photos and bookmarks.

I regularly update my book marks and save them on this drive.

This drive in turn is backed up by a stand alone usb driven 80Gig hard drive where all my can't live without at any cost stuff is transferred.

This last drive is kept in a secure place where it cannot be knocked or damaged in any way!

This last step may be a tad overkill  O0 but it's a painful experience to loose precious photos and research material  :((collected over years, wiped out in a flash and a pop (litreally!) from the back of the old puter! >>:-( >>:-( >>:-(

So a word to the wise, don't take modern technology for granted or it will bite you in the a**! {-) {-) {-)
