I have learnt a valuable lesson, don't buy boilers over Ebay.
Boiler has now been tested to twice its working pressure all went well so at least I have peace of mind.
I even think that the vertical boiler looks better than the original horizontal.
I tried to be philosophical about the whole thing at least no one was hurt, this might well have happened if an unsuspecting buyer had fired the boiler up >>:-(

Yes your right- really does suit being a vertical design, and looks scale too now.

Keep up the great work.

Who's your mentor by the way...?

A fellow club mate who joined about 3 years ago.
He comes from an engineering background and offered to support me in building a steam engine by giving advice and help as he constructed his the same time.
A rather steep learning curve I can't describe the feeling when it first ran on air.
