Hitec Zebra

Daryl:
A good friend of mine recently bought a Hitec Zebra FM Tx/Rx set. The transmitter doesn't work, when he complained to the retailer he bought it from he said he had never heard of anyone complaining about the set. I think after a long discussion  my friend is going to get a replacement. I was thinking about getting one of these sets, but I have heard that they are not compatable with any Futaba or Webra receivers or servos. My friend might be unlucky but has anyone else had any problems with these new cheep sets?

Daryl

I bought one a couple of months ago as it was cheapest four channel FM (Micro Tx/Micro Rx) set I could get and I haven't had any problems with it yet (touch wood).

I obtained my "ZEBRA" 3ch outfit off of one of my club mates. He bought it at the Weymouth model boat show but can't remember who from. Well the transmitter is playing up, so i opened up the case only to find that one of the "IF" coils is getting very very hot. So i am forced to buy a new one.

Daryl:
Hi helmsman,
The two dealers who werre selling Hitec Zebra were SHG Models and Hunter Systems. My friend has I beleive got a replacement but is less than happy with Hitecs quality control. Full marks to Hunter Systems who replaced it very promptly, I have allways found Hunters Sytems very helpful, my freind also bought his at Weymouth.

Hope this helps
Daryl
