Well thank you guys. Very nice of you to say so.

I spent another full shift of her today and here are the latest pictures.

1st, I forgot to put up the pictures of my welding job on the rudders. These were hand made from sheet copper and soldered to brass tubing filled with brass rod for strength. The picture also shows the little cake decorating welder from Aldi for only £13.75. (the flame is showing). It proved man enough for the job, so I'm quite pleased with the result.

I've finally finished off the rounded off front of the craft, so no more funny little shapes going around corners.

I started on the rear section by cutting more plywood box shapes and have it clamped and glued to dry overnight. I shall be fitting extra supports inside to strengthen them as they appear a little wobbly at the moment.

Excellent job Ken.  :-))

I use a soldering iron for my soldering, but I have been known to sneak the wife's blowtorch out of the kitchen on occasion.

The glue has dried and now the extra support beams have been fixed in, so I thought it a good idea to take her out into the sun for some more pictures. (hope you're not getting fed up!)

Finished early today as I was due a visit to the dentist. Funny how they can find the extra work.  :o  now I've got to go back.

Dicky my man, you have a very short memory - the praying man - is, I am sure, the sole survivor from the RED PELICAN - which went down at Mayhem  %% %% %% {-) {-) and I am sure he is praying for Kenny to be more careful when R.N.L.I. Kenny sets sail.

LOOKING GOOD THERE mind you Ken  :-)) :-))

Thank you Mat, more work today, but no pictures.

I have been using a wood filler from B&Q and it has a tube of hardner, just like P38 filler.

Well. I've just checked on it to see if it's gone off and the results are stunning. The surface is rock hard and all I've got to do is sand it down level  .....       Hmphh .  Looks a bit of a job I've given myself here. Will let you know how I get on.  May have found another product for the 'Boys'

Thank you Peter. It's coming along in leaps and bounds now.

I've built the steps to the rear deck and found I had to cut the same shape in the 'lift off cabin' to seat it down properly.

I have fitted the rudders with Marks collets and assembled them temporary to see how they line up. I've made a holder for the servo and sited it well up the boat for easy access when the decks are on.

I've finally finished the upper cabin slope and it matches up a treat.

Today I went shopping with the Missis and guess what I found in a cheap store......  Yes, it's a six inch man from the TV series  'Gladiators'  who fits the bill exactly for the crew, so I've bought all their stock of two  hmph!! must go back. All I need is some yellow trousers and coats and I'm well away in the staff department. Price, I hear you say. Well they are under Two english pounds each. Couldn't believe it either.

Well the next store we visited I found the miniature Nuts to go around the panels. I've been dreading this part of the build because of costs and availability of 1000 off size 1.6 mm nuts in stainless steel is not cheap.
The store was called Dunelm Mill and I found some packets of hexagon silver beads (for a better name) which could be glued on flat against the window edges etc. and look the part.

Here are the latest pictures showing the man and steps. You may also notice the smoothed hull, done with wood filler. It came out very well and sanded just like P38. Looks a bit spotty, but should cover up nicely with epoxy later.

The pictures are in two batches as I've exceed my bandwidth.

Cheers

Ken

           ;)

I have measured the 'Team' and found that they are not 6 inches tall. They are only 5 inches, so are slightly out of scale.

I think I'll have to think it out again.   :((

Today I painted the two Alans just to get a flavour of the colour.

I've also made the various covers that go around the cabin and have retired early to let the glue set.
