Fitted the rubber strip around the sides and all secured with tape until the glue dries overnight.  Don't want them falling off at sea !!

I have also started securing the deck items and made a start on the stanchions.  These I have to make myself as they are rather large items. I have yet to secure down the rear rails so they are just on there for effect.

The glued fenders have dried out nice and firm so we got on with the wiring up.

I have made it all on one sliding board which slides under the rear deck out of view. (see pic).  She is now equipped with Action's speed control gear and distribution boxes, twin 900 motors and servo connected to the twin rudders. The Bow thruster was wired up to a six volt supply on it's own battery  The prop tubes and rudder tubes have been greased so it was time to fill the test pool.

The weight has now increased beyond my lifting capabilities so she was taken out into the garden in bits and assembled on the water. I have found during the float test that 15 Kg of batteries are needed to bring her down the marks. She was actually only designed for one 12 volt and one 6 volt battery so now I know I can fit bigger amp/hour ones. This should cover massive load from the motors and future electric items. The buoyancy is quite fantastic even with these weights on board.

I played around with motors by driving into the edge of the pool at at full power, only to bounce right off. Must get up the local lake for better tests.  I let her sit around in the water for half an hour and no leaks have been reported.

Kenny you are amazing - The portable trim trial tank is a clever solution.  ;) A pair of 12v 12amp sla's won't sink this heavyweight. Have you thought/have a service name for the kenny7?

HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!!! You should be using Mode 4 50% mix with that big beast, not Mode 3  - or it will turn itself inside out if you turn at full speed. Switch 1 OFF; Switch 2 ON; Pot R1 all the way anticlockwise.

Hi Perkasaman.

It has crossed my mind and I decided not to name her after an existing boat for fear of 'Rivet counters". I shall number her 17-02 as per the drawings and maybe call her 'Prototype'.

I'm going to fit wheels to the support frame so that I can 'run' her down the slope at Wicksteed. Mind you, I shall have Dan with me to drive home should my Back give in.   %)

Thanks for the compliments.

Thank you for your advice FLJ. I did turn the 'Pot' to remove motor buzz !!.

I wondered why she was swinging on the water. Such power with Mark's motors.  8)   Mind you, the cost in amps will shorten sailing time.  ;)    After the weight test,  I can now move up to 20 amp/hours

Nice quiet day today, running the railing wires around the deck.   :}

Fitted the railings today and started on the 'Livery'.  My goodness, she's coming alive.

No pictures until I've completed this bit.   ok2

Just putting my Lifeboat anorak on for a moment  :D :D :D

Ken 17-02 was named "The Will" and was a station boat at Falmouth from 97-01 before going into the relief fleet.

If you do not want to base it on a particular boat number it 17-47 because they only built 46

Yours

A sad Lifeboat Anorak  :-))

As you can see we have opted for our house number on the boat and called her  17-64

I have been busy putting on all the deck furniture and having a great time. The radar is fitted and rotates lovely and all the transfers have been fitted. I've fitted out the Ariel masts and now keep catching them on things when I move the boat.   %)

Your road must be long if your house number is 1764

Thanks Dan. Must get her bottom wet soon.   8)

Here's the fitted Trim tabs which completes the stern section.  Today the flying bridge window frame materials arrived, so onwards and upwards.   ok2

Carried her out into the blazing sun today. Once again, in bits as she's really is getting heavy now.
