Best of luck Dave. Hopefully everything is normal.

Thanks for sharing, it takes 'cahones' to talk about the issue.
Something we should all condisder.

A mate of mine gets his medicals done every year now, in Thailand, and they check the prostrate the old fashioned way (finger up the rectum).
Here in China they ultrasound, and touch wood (ooh aarrr missus!) I have been ok.
Still not as thorough as Brachytherapy.

We chuckle, but a quiick checkup can catch so many problems early. And early diagnosis is the trick.
For the sake of a few quid, I would urge anybody/everybody to have a check up.

Here in France at age 60 everyone is called in for a very thorough wellbeing check.

Also, every two years I receive a little packet in the post, I then take three fairly solid samples (yuk!) about the size of a grain of rice over three days, smear them onto a card and post the card off. Five days later I get a report.

I also am sent for a blood test every 3 months (I am diabetic and have a heart condition). I go to a Lab. in our little town at 09:00 and get the results at 17:00 the same day.

The major problem with our French Health System is that as a nation we cannot afford it!

To date I am clear.

Wullie ,Martin and de  mob
Here's a little remedy I learned down in the South Atlantic and the Antarctic back in the early 60's
1 extra large tot dark navy rum
equal measure boiling water (if you use a glass be sure you leave a spoon in it)
1 pat of real butter (not marge)
  1 pinch of Cinnamon
1 tea spoon full brown sugar (optional)
Stir until the butter blends in (No Grease spots floating on top)
float 3 cloves on top (I have also used a tea spoon of clove cordial if you can't get the real thing)
Drink while Hot and watch the troubles of the world float away :-)) :-)) ;)

Don't talk like a kitten
It's an Old Southern Ocean Drink originally I was told a favorite on the old sailing whalers--- you want to try one--- the taste is a bit like the old butter scotch sweets ---- when you tell people about it they all say NO Way--- when they try it--- it 's usually " Nice ---can you write it down " so far I have not met any one who's tried a sip (not even non Rum drinkers)who hasn't finished it --- So Have a go --- Then tell me what it's like  :-)) I've just come in from clearing the snow off the drive and have one steaming away nicely in front of me. Cheers :-)) :-))

The metal spoon dissipates the heat quicker that glass thus cutting down the chance of the glass cracking Simples!

 The next pandemic

I went to a gathering last night, where I and other guests enjoyed copious amounts of alcohol.

I awoke this morning not feeling well, with what could be described as flu-like symptoms; headache, nausea, chills, sore eyes, etc.

From the results of some initial testing, I have unfortunately tested positive for what experts are now calling Wine Flu.

This debilitating condition is very serious - and it appears this is not an isolated case.

Reports are flooding in from all around the country of others diagnosed with Wine Flu. To anyone that starts to exhibit the aforementioned tell-tale signs, experts are recommending a cup of tea and a bit of a lie down.  One should not expose himself to fellow employees for at least 24-48 hours.

However, should your condition worsen, you should immediately hire a DVD and take some Panadol.  To ensure this Wine flu remains a minor case, refrain from consuming further amounts of alcohol and stick to Lucozade.  Others are reporting a McDonald's quarter pounder can also help in some cases.

Wine Flu does not need to be life threatening and, if treated early, can be eradicated within a 24-48 hour period.

NOTE
If you find you are complaining a lot, it may be that it has mutated into Whine Flu.  This is particularly common in MEN and can quickly spread to their partners where the symptoms are detected as a serious case of eye-rolling
