Miss Budweiser
« on: February 06, 2010, 07:06:56 pm »

I am into model helicopters, but have been asked to look at the pull start on a "Miss Budweiser" power boat. The unit needs replacing, but the engine details are sparse. On one side of the lower crankcase below the engine mount is written "Made in Taiwan". On the other side on the cylinder block is "21", underneath this is the letter"C". on the side of the engine mount itself are the numbers "167011Z". If anyone could identify this motor, or tell me where to locate a pull start that will fit it, would be greatly appreciated

Would I be correct in saying that the engine is a .21 engine, and that any pullstart for a .21 engine would fit ?????  Bill W

Hi
Is this the boat?
http://www.remote-island.co.uk/Categories/Boats/MissBudNitro/Radio_Controlled_Miss_Budweiser_Speedboat.htm
- just noticed this one is a 15, so may be a different engine.

If so, the engine is a Team Infinity 3.5cc (21).  You could try them for spares or Google for a local distributor.
Unfortunately most of the pull start units are specific for a certain crankcase/crankshaft combination although some may be identical but sold under different names.
These may be able to help

Hi Danny,

It is identical to the one shown, with the exception, of the "CPV" logo. The transmitter is also a "CPV" badged item. What markings does the Infinity engine have on it. Cheers  Bill W

Hi Bill
The Infinity engine has "Team Infinity" on the side, so its not one of theirs it seems.
CPV are a Chinese company who make parts for different motors, usually add ons.
Their website has a tab for "nitro boats", but nothing there (also same for petrol and electric)!

Maybe they did one once (or their website is incorrect).  They don't show full engines or crankcases.

This may be the maker (although the one shown is electric) - check the dimensions.

Is there a problem with yours?  if not, I should just run it and enjoy. Whats in a name??

Cheers

Hi Danny,

The boat belongs to the wife's Hairdresser, he bought it second hand, and when he first tried the pullstart it broke, so he just put it in his garage. That was 2 years ago and he has decide to resurrect it. It needed a new pullstart, the nipples that are attached to the water-cooled head and a fuel tank, 180cc. I plunged in and bought a 21 pullstart and that fitted, I have also got the nipples for the head. I am still having trouble sourcing a fuel tank on the net, any links that I could use??  Thanks Bill W.

Hi Bill
Your local model shop should do one that size. If not, they can order from Ripmax

Loads of other shapes if required.
Cheers
